About the August issue of The Bird Observer
From the Editorial Committee
Our August issue focuses very much on Biodiversity Month in September and, in particular, Threatened Species Day on 7 September. Both the Conservation and Education sections contain items very relevant to threatened species and with particular emphasis on the Malleefowl, our cover bird this month. We have interesting coverage of the Saemangeum Shorebird Monitoring Program 2008 from Tania Ireton and Narran Lakes Nature Reserve reprinted from Birding NSW Newsletter. This edition sees a change to recycled paper - see Inside BOCA for further details of this and other improvements to our production process. The Committee thanks all those who have taken the trouble to write very complimentary letters and emails regarding the standard of our magazine. We welcome the support and see The Bird Observer as a work in progress with continued improvement being the aim.
