BOCA Library

The BOCA
Library is a specialised multi-media collection of resources that cover not only
past and present ornithology in Australia, but also the diversity, behaviour and
habitat needs of Australia's birds.
The collection
consists of books, pamphlets, periodicals, videos, DVDs, audiotapes, CDs and
CD-ROMs.
Much of the library's book collection has been donated to BOCA over the years and we suscribe to 177 periodicals which are received via an exchange program with birding
organisations in other states and overseas. The material held at the library focuses principally on
aspects of the study, conservation and enjoyment of Australian birds, but other
parts of the world are also covered.
The BOCA collection of Victorian birdskins held under license from the Department of Sustainability and Environment (Victoria), though not part of the Library, is included in the Library catalogue. There is also a separate photographic slide collection available to members.
The Library is staffed by volunteers and is open for
use from 10am to 4pm on weekdays, and from 9.30 am to 12.30pm on Saturdays. Most
of the resources are available for loan to members, by post if required.
Non-members may use the resources in situ, by prior arrangement.
